Carlos Saldierna

My background is in real estate private equity and development, with experience across acquisitions, underwriting, financing, asset management, investor reporting, and portfolio analysis.

A lot of the work I enjoy most sits between finance, analysis, operations, and strategy. I like understanding what matters, structuring the analysis, and finding ways to automate manual processes so information is easier to use and teams can move faster. In my current role, I have been able to apply that across the investment lifecycle, from building tools that streamline land acquisition and site evaluation for master planned communities, residential, and commercial projects to developing reporting systems that give equity partners and firm principals better visibility into how projects are performing.

I have found that I really enjoy taking a process, understanding how it works, and figuring out how to make it better. That is also what pushed me to start building outside of real estate. FORMA and PianoCoach both started with hobbies and skills I wanted to get better at, along with products I wished existed to make those experiences easier. Building them has given me the chance to take an idea from something I wanted for myself to a product I can actually use, while learning more about product design, systems, and how to turn an idea into something real.

Going forward, I want to continue building that skill set in a role where I can apply it at a larger scale. I am especially interested in opportunities where I can combine my investment and financial experience with technology, automation, and better systems to improve how teams evaluate opportunities, manage investments, make decisions, and operate.
